FAQs How Do We Add Your Logo?

The branding methods we use are determined by the product type and material. Below is a quick insight into each branding method so you can see how to represent your logo and company image in the best light.

Screen Printing: Ideal for logos made from 1 to 4 separate colours

Screen printing, or serigraphy, previously known as silk-screening is a printing technique that traditionally creates a sharp-edged image using a stencil and a porous fabric. In brief, the screen is made from porous finely woven fabric held over a frame. Areas of the screen are obscured with a non-permeable stencil which is a positive of the image to be printed (the remaining open areas are where the ink will appear). When printing multi-colour logos, a new stencil is made for each colour and the different colours printed sequentially. Screen printing is most suitable for logos with 1-4 colours that have no shading or colour gradation.

Before printing, inks are custom mixed to match the Pantone® colour references denoted on the Virtual Proof ( What is a Virtual Proof?).

Flashbay oven fires printed metallic components before product assembly to ensure maximum print durability while screen printing on plastic products always give excellent print adhesion. We have an in-house screen print department to ensure your logo is printed to the highest standards by experienced screen print technicians.

Photo Printing: Ideal for logos/graphics made from many different colours

Although we use advanced technology, photo printing is similar to standard desktop printing in that logos can be reproduced in full colour by combining 4 colours known as CMYK in varying amounts. Flashbay uses this technique in combination with polyurethane resin doming to give your logo a very durable finish which is highly resistant to scratches and bumps. Photo printing is the best choice for logos with many colours or those with shading or gradation. We have an in-house print and resin dome department to ensure your logo is printed to the highest standards by experienced print technicians.

Laser Engraving: Ideal for logos requiring 'solid' areas of engraving

Laser engraving gives a very precise and clean finish. We have a variety of different strength laser engraving machines to cater for all types of material from stainless steel to wood. Engraving is not a colour process like printing - your logo is transferred to the product by 'marking' the product with a laser. So how does the laser work? The laser is designed to deliver energy to the product surface in a way which converts a high percentage of the light energy into heat - the area where the laser makes contact vaporizes and a mark is made on the product. Using a computer, the position and movement of the laser can be accurately controlled to achieve the desired effect. Logos with sharp well defined borders tend to work best. We have an in-house laser engraving department to ensure your logo is engraved to the highest standards by experienced engraving technicians.

Embossing: Ideal for presentation of simple logos on leather models

Embossing is a branding method which results in your logo being impressed into the leather material of the product and gives a striking 3D effect. A metal 'die' representing the logo is forced into the surface of the material at high pressure and temperature. When the die is removed an impression of the logo remains embedded in the material. This technique is most suitable for simple and relatively large logos which do not have a high degree of fine detail. Our highly skilled embossing technicians ensure that your logo is displayed to the highest possible standards.

In preparation for the embossing process, we craft a metal die to match the shape of your logo. This method of 3-dimensional branding gives your logo a striking appearance. However, the technique is not suitable for logos with a lot of fine detail, or when the logo needs to appear in a smaller size. Our prices always include embossing of all brandable areas. Logo artwork for products with this symbol should be uploaded in a vector format such as .eps, ai, and .cdr.
